BARMUDA ANNOUNCES NEW HIRES AND PROMOTIONS

Company to hit 500 Employees in 2008

Cedar Falls, IA (January 11, 2008) – Barmuda MMC, Cedar Valley’s dining and entertainment leader continues to grow and is expected to reach over 500 employees in 2008. Because of this enormous growth, they have recently hired new team members and have promoted several members of its current staff.

Todd Love, who has been with the company for nearly 20 years has been promoted from Director of IT to Vice President of Property Development. Previously Todd oversaw the management needs of iTech and was responsible for the entertainment (audio/visual) needs of all of the establishments.

Paul Bryson has been hired as Barmuda’s Director of Purchasing and Distribution. He formerly worked for The United States Army, most recently as the Commanding Officer of the Waterloo Army Recruiting Company. Paul has a degree in Governmental Administration and will receive a Master’s degree in Logistics Management in May 2008.

Jesse Buck has been promoted to Director of Operations. He has worked for Barmuda since 1999 and most recently was the General Manager of Bourbon Street and Voodoo Lounge. He has also been the General Manager of several other Barmuda establishments including Beck’s Sports Brewery, Park Place Event Centre and Ferrari’s Ristorante.

Derek Sodders, has been promoted to General Manager of Bourbon Street and Voodoo Lounge. He was formerly Assistant General Manager of Bourbon Street and Voodoo Lounge where he also worked as Head of Staff Bartender since 2004. Derek previously worked for Bullseye Construction and Eller Insulation.

Tara Smiley has recently been promoted to Director of Catering and Corporate Training. She previously was the General Manager of Soho Sushi Bar and Deli and The Stuffed Olive. Tara has worked for Barmuda since December 2003 as a bartender and server at Bourbon Street and as the Assistant Manager at Beck’s Sports Brewery. In her 17 years in the restaurant industry, she has also managed Peppers, The Other Place and Carlos O’Kelley’s.

Jocelyn Beery has been promoted from Assistant Manager to General Manager of Soho Sushi Bar and Deli and The Stuffed Olive. Jocelyn, who has an A.A. in Photography, was also an Assistant Manager at Bourbon Street and has been with Barmuda since 2002. She was formerly employed by American Color Imaging.

Josh Meyer, who most recently worked for Barmuda as the General Manager of Mojo’s Pizza House, is being promoted to the General Manager of the new nightclub Lucid that will open this Spring in the former Coconuts Beach Club location. Josh has been with Barmuda since 2004 and was formerly a bartender at Coconuts. He has a BA in management from the University of Northern Iowa.

Travis Beck, Barmuda’s Senior Music Programmer, will also play an integral role in the new nightclub, Lucid. Beck, who has grown up in the industry by learning the business from his father, Darin Beck, CEO and owner of Barmuda, will serve as part of the management team overseeing the nightclub. Beck has been with Barmuda since 2004.

Andy Snitker, who has been with Barmuda since 2004, has been promoted to General Manager for Mojo’s Pizza and Party Bar. Snitker was formerly Assistant Manager for Mojo’s and also worked at Coconuts Beach Club and Bourbon Street. Andy has an A.A. degree from Hawkeye Community College and was previously employed by the City of Cedar Falls.

Lisamarie Nielsen has been hired as an Event Coordinator at Park Place Event Centre. She worked most recently for Wells Fargo Financial and is a 2007 graduate of Wartburg College with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts and an emphasis in Public Relations.

Jen Stiles has been hired as an office assistant at Barmuda’s Corporate Office. She has worked for the company for the past six years as a bartender at Joker’s Comedy Nightclub.
