Bourbon Street Receives Wine Spectator Award of
Excellence
Cedar Falls – Bourbon Street restaurant is
pleased to announce it has been recognized for having one of the best wine
lists in the world by Wine Spectator magazine. Now in its 26th year, Wine SpectatorÕs 2006
Restaurant Awards program honors more than 3,600 wine-friendly restaurants
around the world, including only 14 in Iowa and just two in the Cedar Valley.
With
strict entry guidelines, wine lists are judged on attention to quality, a
thematic match with the menu and clear, concise presentation, including
spelling. BarmudaÕs Restaurant
Operations Director Patrick Snyder oversees the ongoing development of Bourbon
StreetÕs wine list.
ÒGoing
from a 12-item offering on opening day to creating a 125-item list worthy of a
Wine Spectator Award was a journey of ongoing education and discovery,Ó Snyder
says. ÒThrough meticulous research, speaking with experts, and of course, the
best part, sampling, our offerings have evolved into a world-class wine list.Ó
Wine
SpectatorÕs 2006 Dining Guide is considered the worldÕs most comprehensive list
of restaurants that take wine seriously. A free restaurant search database
lists all winners at www.winespectator.com. Bourbon StreetÕs wine list is noted
for its strength in California wines, though it includes selections from around
the world. The wine list is available online at www.barmuda.com.
ÒOur
incredible menu is even further enhanced by a list of this stature, giving our
guests the dining experience they deserve,Ó Snyder says. ÒWhether youÕre a
connoisseur, or taking your first steps into the wonderful world of wine, IÕm
confident youÕll enjoy this list as much as weÕve enjoyed creating it!Ó
