Every band has
dedicated fans, but what length would they go to see their favorite band
perform?
One summer event in
Cedar Falls shows just what dedicated fans can do by putting on a FREE concert
with their favorite
bands. Karen Blough of Cooper Image Design, a self-proclaimed Benjy Davis
Project
(BDP) super-fan,
decided to take an active roll in seeing her favorite band play live.
Contacting the band
directly in Baton
Rouge and coordinating with the Overman Park band shell management, Blough was
able to promote a
free concert in the park. She secured a local band, Scot Jons and the Local
Heroes,
as an opening act as
well as convinced local businesses to contribute to the cost of the event.
Blough
says she is positive
that the free concert will convert her fellow Cedar Valley residents into fans
of the
Southern rock
six-piece band! A photographer by trade, Blough says she only promotes rock
concerts as
a hobby!
