A LEGEND AND A SHUTTLE RETURNÉ

AS SHAGS REPLACES LUCID CONCEPT IN BLACKHAWK VILLAGE

Cedar Falls, IA (August 22, 2008)  -- After almost two solid decades of being the most successful nightclub in the Cedar Valley, and Iowa for that matter, Shags closed its doors on January 1st 2004. Now after four years off, ShagÕs is making a comeback in its former location in Blackhawk Village. ÒShagÕs was 18 years old when I closed it,Ó said Darin Beck, CEO of Barmuda Corp. ÒItÕs like my baby grew up and went off to college for four years and has come back home to start a new life. ItÕs actually rather surreal for me to watch all of this happen all over again!Ó

ShagÕs will make its debut with a comeback party Wednesday, August 27th in the location where Lucid opened just a couple of months ago. ÒWe have found ourselves in the middle of a trademark and trade name dispute with Lucid Absinthe, a new liquor product in the U.S. Since Lucid is so new and not yet well established, weÕve decided not to spend the money fighting for the name, but rather change the name of the club. There isnÕt a week that goes by where somebody doesnÕt tell me they miss Shags or wish Shags was still around,Ó said Beck. ÒIÕm looking forward to the return of Shags. ItÕs where it all began for Barmuda back in 1986 and it seems the time is right to resurrect the legend!Ó

The new Shags will be very much like the old Shags.  The biggest difference will be the sheer level of investment.  ÒThis new Shags is literally a million dollar night club and would compete with any club anywhere in the country.  It truly is a world class dance venueÓ, said Beck. Unlike the previous Shags, this one boasts having the largest dance floor in Barmuda history and sports the most spectacular lighting of any nightclub in Iowa history. ÒShags is going to blow people away with its sheer beauty and design,Ó said Kyle Dehmlow, Vice President of Operations. ÒI guess you could say that Shags has grown up a little!Ó

SHAGS/Add One

For club goers who are searching for a decadent nightlife experience, Shags is sure to please Wednesday through Saturday featuring all of todayÕs hottest music and go-go dancers. Admission is age 19+ and 18 with college I.D. Shags will open at 9 p.m. and close at 2 a.m. and will employ around 60 people including full time General Manager Ryan Drewes, full time DJ and entertainment coordinator Travis Beck. BarmudaÕs VP of Operations, Kyle Dehmlow will oversee all of ShagsÕ operations.

Barmuda is also bringing back our safe ride program.  The new service will be called the Barmuda Shuttle.  Literally a 15-passenger airport shuttle painted up to be a highly visible service. The shuttle will have a set route and will operate every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night. The new shuttle will also be available as a charter service for those interested in wedding shuttles or other event transportation needs. Arrangements for charter Barmuda Shuttle services, simply call the Barmuda offices at 319-266-9994.

The new shuttle will be making routine scheduled pick ups and drop offs at the UNI Quads, Ice Lounge on College Hill, Shags in Blackhawk Village, and Jokers on Main Street about every 20 minutes at each of the locations.

ÒHaving a safe ride program available to our guests is something that has been sorely missed by us and our guests since shutting down the Barmuda Barhopper service a couple of years ago. This new shuttle will be much more efficient and comfortable for passengersÓ, said Beck.
